Tell me the difference between hotel Notary Public classes in NY and On-Line N.Y. Notary Class Training?

Answer:  They are both equally-effective according to what suits Your personal needs... for getting a Notary Public License faster in New York State.

Honestly speaking…the same materials used for our live 5-hour Notary training Classes
are utilized in the preparation of the on-line NYS Notary exam preparation course.
All New York State Notary Public exam questions come from the N.Y.S.,
“Notary Public Licensing Law”.   Subsequently both Notary exam prep courses and the follow-up review materials get you qualified as a NY Notary in any county of New York State.

The question should really be, “What type of learner are you?"

  • Do you like live classes in hotels?  Would you like getting out of the office for a day of group learning?
  • Do you prefer live class where you can eat bagels, drink coffee and ask questions?
  • Do you prefer a controlled class environment with audio visual experiences and classmate interaction?

OR

  • Would you prefer watching videos and doing NY Notary statutes electronic practice quizzes?  They are like mastering a video game until you are the TOP score and an A+ winner?
  • Do you need a controlled environment on a set schedule... or do you like going self-paced and having access 24/7?
  • Do you have too many work or home distractions to self-study….OR are you all-set for self -study?
  • NOTE: less than 1% of our students repeat the on-line training class because of failing!

Whatever type of learning experience you and your schedule are best suited for... can be accommodated.  It is always beneficial to take a N.Y.S. Notary Association approved course because they provide so much more than just getting you licensed.  Our instructors bring decades of actual real-world experiences to the training sessions that are invaluable.  Furthermore... we don’t let go of your hand once you are licensed.  You receive FREE membership in the New York State Notary Public Association which means you will receive continuing education needed to stay current and out of trouble!

How to become A Notary Public In Any New York State County

You need to qualify by displaying knowledge of the NYS (New York State) Notary Public licensing law.
To do this you must study the Notary Law Statutes and be prepared to answer 40 multiple choice questions at a New York State Notary Exam testing center.  The state leases these facilities so you must only go there on the appointed / scheduled NYS Notary Exam dates and times.  Nobody is there and there is no phone at the exam centers to call on non test ting dates.   To see the exam schedule with upcoming dates, times and locations click the page tab at the top of this page.

To see a NY Notary Public smaple exam you can also click on the tab above.  You will have one hour at the New york Notary exam to answer the 40 questions using a score sheet and a number 2 lead pencil to fill in the answers.  Most of our students complete the exam in approximately 20 minutes of less.

You will need to score 28 correct answers of better.  That means you need a 70% score on the Notary public exam to qualify as a NYS Notary public.  After the exam they mail you a "PASSED" or "FAILED notification in approximately 1-3 weeks.  We have a little less than 1% of our students report failing the exam and requesting the free repeat of our training in that event.  That is the guarantee that comes with every course we offer on this site.  The state exam appears to have a failure rate of approximately 60%.  These are people who do not have the proper study environment and tips we provide through cerrtified NYS Notary Public Associatoion classes.

Common Juristiction and Venue Questions Have Arisen Due To Changes In NY State Notary Public Licensing Law
NYC Notary Public licensing no longer restricts a Notary Public in NY State to Manhattan.  Our juristictions as a NYS Notary Public is now the entire state regardless of where we live or work when we get commissioned.  Yes we are assigned to a county clerk locally however it does not restrict you from traveling into any othwer New York Counties and performing Notary Public Services.  Years ago we could not leave our county borders unless we files a certificate of official charcater with the additional county clerk we wished to perform Notary Public services in.  We could then get a new Notary Public stamp and ad the words, "Qualified in (additional county)"  As stated this is no longer required.  What changed was that we are now required to say where we are whenever we notarrize something with the, "Venue" which is required on every Notary Public Certificate we make with the words, "State of New York County of (Name of county you are at while performing the duties).
